How to obtain your personnel file

Advice and reference info from members. (Updated October 14, 2016.)  Contact the HPAA volunteers: hpalumni.org/email

[This procedure was provided by a current HPE manager. Should be the same for HPI.]

Most of the current personnel record information can be found in Workday, accessible via the HPE Portal.

Older records were scanned and reside in a system called OFIS - Optical File Imaging System.

Here is the path for an employee to find their OFIS personnel records:

Start at the HPE Portal

- Select Top Tools

- HR Home

- Personal Information (near middle of page toward the right-hand side) This opens more links toward the bottom of the screen. Scroll down to see them.

- HR Personnel Records (OFIS) (This is under Misc, on right-hand side of page.)

- Select "OFIS - Click Here to Launch"

- Select "My HR Documents"

- Enter your employee ID on the next screen and select "Search." (Be sure and include any leading zeros. OFIS will not find your employee ID if you leave them off.)

This will bring up a list of documents that were originally paper but have been scanned. For employees who have been part of the original HP, there can be quite a few documents here.
(For example, an employee of 35 years found 52 documents, including their original offer-of-employment letter.)

I would recommend having the employee contact their manager with the above path information if they have trouble navigating this. Each manager has access to the personnel records of their direct reports.
