Update on employee relief efforts after recent natural disasters
A Story From HP Continuum
Thanks for your support and concern for HP employees who were impacted
by recent natural disasters.
HP is pleased to confirm that all employees in Puerto Rico have been
accounted for and are safe.
Our local offices in Aguadilla remain open and we are doing all we can
to assist employees in need. An HP shuttle service is now transporting
employees from their homes to the site where they can take advantage of
onsite childcare, counselling services, and free daily breakfast and
lunch. Coca Cola is filling the water tank up weekly with potable water,
which is being distributed to employees.
Data connectivity is still very limited at the site, with the majority
of the bandwidth being used for site operations - very few employees
having access to internet/email. The Global Security team is looking at
alternate options to get additional bandwidth to the site. We've also
been able to secure priority gas so employees don't have to wait in line
at gas stations.
Many of you have asked how we are supporting employees affected by the
storm. All HP employees in Puerto Rico who were impacted by Hurricane
Maria are eligible to apply for personal grants from the HP Employee
Relief Fund (ERF). This fund was created when we established HP Inc. and
it aims to help employees in need of financial assistance due to a
disaster or personal hardship.
The ERF relies primarily on individual donations. Every contribution
helps and when combined with the donations of others, can provide a
tax-free grant to help an HP employee facing the unexpected.
If you would like to make a tax-free donation to the HP Employee Relief
Fund, you can do so online using a credit card or PayPal by clicking
here. If you would like to mail a check, please make your check out to:
Emergency Assistance Foundation, Inc. with "For: HP Employee Relief
Fund" in the memo or the cover letter and mail to 3713 Pine St.,
Jacksonville, FL 32205.
We will continue to provide updates on the relief efforts on HP
Continuum to keep everyone informed.
The Hewlett-Packard Alumni Association is operated by former employees
who volunteer their time. Not officially endorsed or supported.
