What happens next?
You will get five automatic
confirmation messages from Yahoo with the subject lines:
"Please confirm your request
to join hp_alumni_association"
"Please confirm your request
to join hp_alumni_transition"
"Please confirm your request
to join hp_alumni_benefits"
"Please confirm your request
to join hp_alumni_career"
"Please confirm your request
to join hp_alumni_jobs"
Check your spam folder if you don't see them
in a few minutes.
Send a separate blank reply to each
of the five emails entitled "Please confirm your request" – but not the other Yahoo emails.
Do not click on the "Go to
the Yahoo Groups site" link in any of the confirmation
emails

just send a blank reply to each one. (Otherwise, Yahoo will have you sign up for a Yahoo Account, which you do not
need.)
The content
of your reply is not read by anyone – the email goes to the
Yahoo system, not to us. Not a way to communicate with the
HPAA.
ASAP Checklist
Meanwhile, be sure to use the HPAA's
"ASAP Checklist."
The checklist has advice and mutual help
– developed by HPAA members –
on the many things you have to do before you
lose access to HP's internal systems.
The checklist is public – you don't have to wait for
approval of your membership application to use it.
Approval
Our volunteer team will approve your HPAA application –
typically within 48 hours after you send the replies. If there is a problem, you
will get an email.
Upon approval, you will receive

guide on how to benefit from the HPAA's services. Please read it.
