How to change your email address for HPAA

To troubleshoot HPAA email, click Troubleshoot Email.

To leave the HPAA, click Leave the HPAA

Recruiters, please click Recruiter Change Address.

The HPAA uses the Yahoo Groups service. Each Yahoo group (i.e. each HPAA forum or list) has a separate subscription list.

The measures that Yahoo takes to prevent abuse of their system make it very difficult to change your email address unless you have a YahooID account.

It is easier for all concerned to have the HPAA change your address for "HP Alumni News" and any HPAA discussion forums and lists that you have subscribed to.

To change your email address for the HPAA, please send us a short email from the email account that you want HPAA emails to be sent to. This ensures that we have your correct email address.

We use your email address, not your name, to identify you.  (With more than 21,000 members, we have many duplicate names.)

You need to send your request in plain text otherwise, your application will not reach us:

  • Hotmail and MSN users: If a scissors, clipboard, and other buttons are shown at the top of the message area while you are composing your message, you must temporarily turn off Microsoft's "Rich Text" mode. Click Tools, then click Rich-Text Editor OFF.

  • Thunderbird users: in the "Compose" window, choose Options > Format > Plain and Rich (HTML) Text.

Do not send as an attachment. Your note will not reach us.

1.  Go to the email account that you want the HPAA emails to be sent to (do not send your request from the old email account.)

2.  To:      Copy-and-paste the address in yellow into the "TO" field of a new email message.

To:      hp_alumni_membership@yahoogroups.com

    .

3.  Subject:    Put Address Change and your name in the subject line of your message.

Subject:   Address Change - John Smith

4.  Message    Copy-and-paste the form in yellow into the body of a new email message. Fill in the answers and send:

1. Name:__

2. Old email address:__

Before sending the email, please verify that you are sending from the email account that you want HPAA emails to be sent to.

What happens next?

Our volunteer team will process your request – typically within 48 hours. If there is a problem, you will get an email.

You should also update the address on your LinkedIn account

Job leads, requests to connect, and other communications from LinkedIn go to the primary email address on your LinkedIn account.

LinkedIn lets you set up "secondary email addresses" on your account to ensure that you receive requests to connect – and other communications – from people who know you by your various work and personal email addresses.

LinkedIn never exposes your email address to other members without your permission. Emails you send via LinkedIn have a linkedin.com return address – and LinkedIn gives you precise control as to which types of email you receive via their system.

LinkedIn gives you precise control as to which types of email you receive via their system.

We can't change your LinkedIn settings you have to do that through the LinkedIn system.

Go to Synchronize LinkedIn for our directions on making sure that all of your email addresses are on your LinkedIn account.
