Turn off all HPAA emails except the once- or twice-a-month HPAlumni Flash emails
To turn off all emails except the once- or twice-a-month HPAlumni Flash emails, send a single blank message to the corresponding addresses listed below. The content of the message does not matter – only Yahoo's system sees the email. (To reach the HPAA volunteer team, Contact HPAA.)
The email subject line gives the name of the group – i.e. [HPAA Benefits] [HPAA Career] and so forth.
To turn off all emails --
once- or twice-a-month
HPAlumni Flash emails, add this address
to the list above:
(If your email system won't send the note – which is very rare – change the semicolons in the list of addresses to commas.)
For each of the HPAA groups that you are a member of, Yahoo will send you a note: "Please reply to unsubscribe from..." – to confirm that the request is authentic. (Otherwise, the random forged emails from spammers would be turning off people's emails.)
If you don't see the confirmation emails in a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. (Gmail and other email services often treat administrative messages from Yahoo as spam. For Gmail, click "More" in the left-hand menu, then "Spam" to find the folder.)
Send a separate blank reply to each of the confirmation emails. Unless you have a Yahoo account, do not click on the "Go to the Yahoo Groups site" link in any of the confirmation emails – just send a blank reply to each one. (The content of your reply is not read by anyone – the email goes to the Yahoo system, not to us.)
For each of the HPAA groups that you are not a member of, Yahoo will send you a note: "Unable to process your message" – which you can disregard.
After your reply, allow 48 hours for all of the Yahoo Groups systems to complete your change.
