Posting Guidelines
These rules are generally applicable to all online job posting systems. If you post jobs to multiple lists, you shouldn't have to modify your posts for our group.
The subject line is the key to getting results.
Please follow these guidelines so that members can quickly scan the large number of posts:
Good examples:
Please follow the subject line format to ensure that people don't miss your post when they are quickly scanning.
Subject Line:
Indicate the location in the subject line:
To make sure that the right people open your post:
We prefer that you post each job separately. This allows the members to scan the messages – and ensures that your jobs are seen.
Identify yourself and your role at the beginning of the post. Due to concerns about identity theft and resume-collecting, our members are very reluctant to respond to job openings posted by people who are unwilling to fully identify themselves.
Bullets, boldface, logos, and other word-processing embellishments are automatically deleted or simplified. Just use ordinary plain text – not HTML or RTF.
Attachments (Word and PDF files, etc.) are automatically removed to prevent the transmission of viruses.
Implied age discrimination. To discourage age discrimination and help recruiters avoid inadvertently violating the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the HPAA may reject job posts that imply age discrimination. This policy is followed by other professional organizations, including the IEEE. Examples of unacceptable phrases: "Recent college grad," "1 to 5 years maximum experience," "1-5 years of experience", "Up to 5 years experience," "5 years maximum experience."
Privacy. We do not accept non-government job posts that require a Social Security Number for initial contact.
Posting frequency. To keep the group as effective as possible for members and recruiters, an unfilled job may not be reposted in less than four weeks.
If you made an error, repost with "- Revised" in the subject line. The "Recall" command doesn't work outside your own company.
How to post
Please take the time to write a careful subject line – including the location – so that the people who qualify don't miss the message.
Then just paste the rest into the body as plain text and email it to either: hp_alumni_jobs@yahoogroups.com or hp_alumni_worldjobs@yahoogroups.com
There will be up to a 48-hour delay before your submissions are emailed to our members.
If you have questions, please contact: HPAA Careers Director
The HPAA lists are strictly for specific job openings posted by recruiters, agencies, hiring managers, and HPAA members. Other posts, such as network marketing solicitations, franchise offerings, or general business opportunities are not accepted.
Emails sent to those who post on this list must be limited to inquiries and résumés in response to a specific job opening.
Virus protection. HPAA's forums have the Yahoo Groups anti-virus and anti-phishing measures enabled:
