The HPAA may, but is not obligated to, monitor or review any HPAA services where users transmit or post communications or communicate solely with each other, and the content of any such communications. The HPAA, however, will have no liability related to the content of any such communications, whether or not arising under the laws of copyright, libel, privacy, obscenity, or otherwise. The HPAA retains the right, without obligation, to remove messages that include any material the HPAA deems abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise unacceptable.
Job Posts. A job post is the responsibility of the author and does not signify an endorsement by the Association.
Advertising. The HPAA has no control over the advertising that is displayed on Google Groups, LinkedIn Groups, Google Groups emails, or LinkedIn emails -- and receives no revenue from it.
Privacy
Website:
- We do not track website visitors or report visits to Google, Facebook, etc. -- as do many sites.
- We do not keep personally-identifiable information about members on our website.
Google Groups:
- Your membership in a Google Group is not visible to other members of that Group until you post on the Group.
- If you post on a Google Group, your email address is visible to other members of that Group and in the emails sent to other Group members.
- Google's Privacy & Terms apply to your use of Google Groups.
LinkedIn Groups:
- We recommend that you tighten down your LinkedIn Privacy Settings
- LinkedIn's User Agreement and LinkedIn's Privacy Policy apply to your use of LinkedIn.
Eventbrite: If you elect to become a Supporting Member of the HPAA, it is easiest for us if you pay via the Eventbrite self-service ticketing platform, which has been in operation since 2006.
- The Eventbrite site is secure; the charge does not automatically renew; we do not see your card or PayPal info.
- Eventbrite's terms and privacy policy apply to your use of Eventbrite.
General:
- We use your email address, not your name, to identify you in our system. We do not sell or share your email address. We do not keep personally-identifiable information about members on our website.
