With HPInc and HPE, there are two Alight companies involved.

- AlightWorklife (which operates the Benefits Centers)

- Alight Retiree Health Solutions (an insurance sales agency.)

These two well-established companies are now under common ownership. The companies have separate locations, personnel, and call centers -- and operate under different regulations.

Each Alight company has a separate system, developed over many years, customized for hundreds of client corporations through use of templates and shells. As a result, the user interfaces are complex -- and the two systems share information only to a limited degree.

Benefits Centers. AlightWorklife is paid by HPInc (or HPE) to operate their Benefits Centers. AlightWorklife administers group health plans and other benefits. (Formerly Aon Hewitt.)

Phone: Start at 1-800-890-3100 -- 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Central Time, Monday - Friday.

The website shows the HPInc (or HPE) view of your health benefits -- including any remaining group plans. A Benefits Center site does not give details of  individual plans purchased with a subsidy, because HPInc is not a party to the transaction.

Use this site to check key settings or research your coverage history. Start at this site to manage tax-advantaged accounts -- RRA, HSA, FSA, or RMSA.

Some long-service HPE retirees are covered by the HPInc "Pre-2003 Retiree Medical Program." Note: "Pre-2003" refers to the year when HP implemented the program, not your retirement year. HPE has paid HPInc to administer health benefits for those retirees. Contact the HPInc Benefits Center. Agents at the HPE Benefits Center may not know about this. Details: https://www.hpalumni.org/Pre2003

Alight Retiree Health Solutions. ARHS is a nationwide insurance sales agency selected by HPInc to sell and administer subsidized open-market individual Advantage and Medigap plans.

Note: To subsidize Medicare coverage for long-time retirees, HPInc funds a "Retiree Reimbursement Account" (RRA) -- but only if an Advantage or Medigap policy is bought from AlightRHS. AlightRHS carries Medicare plans from many, but not all, major insurers.

Site: https://retiree.alight.com/hp (Page URLs: "retiree.alight...")  Note: Personal info settings on the AlightRHS site may be different from those on the separate Benefits Center site.

Phone: Start at 1-800-975-0355 -- 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.

AlightRHS is paid by insurers -- an initial commission, and commissions every year for servicing your account. AlightRHS is regulated by Medicare and state insurance departments.

Use this site to shop for plans before or during an AlightRHS agent appointment; to check status of plans bought from AlightRHS; or have AlightRHS resolve problems with any policy they sold.

Use your Benefits Center account, above, to manage your RRA account, and any HSA, FSA, or RMSA accounts.

Independently of HPInc/HPE, AlightRHS markets other policies -- such as dental, vision, hearing, or non-Medicare drug plans -- which may not be reimbursable under an RRA. (You can opt out of these sales emails by clicking at link at the end.)

(HPE: Selected by HPE to assist with the transition from all group plans to publicly-available individual plans: 1-844-537-5303 -- 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Central Time, Monday through Friday.  https://retiree.alight.com/hewlettpackardenterprise )

To see all Advantage, Medigap, and Drug plans available in your county from any source -- go to the official US Government site and enter your ZIP code and county. Notes: Some are small local or regional plans. The plan names indicate that some are for veterans or other specific groups. Some plans only sell direct or through a single agency. https://www.medicare.gov/plan-compare  (Non-Medicare: https://www.healthcare.gov )

If your coverage is *not* subsidized, there are many ways to select and buy Medicare policies -- aside from the AlightRHS sales agency. You can see all Advantage, Drug, and Medigap policies available in your county from any source, on the official US Government site. https://www.hpalumni.org/enroll-ways-to-buy

For retirees and covered family members not yet eligible for Medicare, including surviving spouses, refer to your current Enrollment Guide https://www.hpalumni.org/EnrollmentGuides and use the official U.S. Government Health Insurance Marketplace: https://www.healthcare.gov
