President and Treasurer: Shirley Kwan
Shirley's 23-year HP career included Asia Pacific Project
Manager in Singapore, European PC Business Controller in
Grenoble, and Global Director of Internal Audit in Hong
Kong. After HP, she was Director of Internal Audit at
Intuit. Shirley has a BA in Economics from Agnes Scott
College and an MBA from Emory University. She is a Certified
Internal Auditor and self-published poet. Shirley now fits
short-term consulting engagements around travel and several
non-profit board memberships.

Operations Director, Website Editor, Benefits Forum
Moderator: Curt Gowan
Curt is happily retired after 30 years in startup and turnaround
divisions within HP. He held engineering roles in R&D,
quality, product marketing, and technical marketing. In
retirement, Curt is doing independent research and working
on pro bono projects. He has BS and MS degrees in Electrical
Engineering from San Jose State University.

Technical Director, TechTalk Forum Moderator: Bill Parrish
Bill worked in R&D, support, and system validation for HP
for 31 years. Bill retired from HP in 2005, and has since
consulted for HP on server system validation and embedded
firmware test automation. Bill has a BS in Electrical
Engineering from the University of California, Santa
Barbara.

Membership Director: Cathy Carlson
Cathy worked in manufacturing and customer support at the
Santa Clara Division for 11 years. She is now a food and
water safety consultant, operating Carlson
Ag Food Safety Consulting. Previous roles include QA and Food Safety Manager at Fresh Leaf Farms, project
manager at California Organics, and project manager at the
USDA. Cathy has a BA in Environmental Studies from UC-Santa
Cruz, focused on Agroecology and Land Use and Planning.

Bay Area Social Committee Chair and Event Moderator:
Barbara Madden
Barbara is an Ameriprise Financial Advisor, specializing in
job transition and retirement, tax planning, and women's
financial strategies. She has owned her own business for 19
years. Barbara worked at HP/Agilent in financial and
management roles for 16 years. She is a CPA/Personal
Financial Specialist, holds a Chartered Retirement Planning
Counselor℠
Designation, and has taught financial, tax, and retirement
planning as an Adjunct Professor at a local community
college for 13 years.

Bay Area Social Committee: Tom McNeal
Tom worked for 21 years at HP and is now retired after
several years at startups, contracting at HP, and working at
Veritas/Symantec. He joined the Corvallis Division after
receiving his MS in Computer Science from the University of
Iowa, and was lucky enough to meet Dave Packard during a
division review. He transferred to the Bay Area a year
later, and spent more than 12 wonderful years working on the
HP 3000 -- including the first multiprocessor platform that
HP released.

Finance Forum Moderator: Tom von Alten
Tom worked in R&D, manufacturing engineering, and process
engineering at HP for 20 years. He is currently a web
application developer at Information Designs in Boise. Tom
has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of
Idaho and an MS in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from
Stanford.

EDS Alumni LinkedIn Membership Manager: LindaLeigh
Richert Aberdale
LindaLeigh is an independent cybersecurity consultant. She
was a software engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation, a
project manager/security engineer at Electronic Data
Systems, and retired from HP as an information security
project manager/team leader in 2012. LL has a BS in
Management with Computer Applications from Worcester
Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Systems Engineering from
Boston University. She holds PMP, CISSP, CSSLP, CISA, IEM,
and IAM certifications.

Backup Forum Moderator and creator of the original
ASAP Checklist : Alan Silverstein
Alan's software R&D work ranged from boot loaders to
business apps -- and from the HP-250 small business system
to the HP-UX operating system. He joined HP in 1977 and
helped start Fort Collins in 1978 -- including administering
the site HP-UX system as a hobby before Site IT was
invented, and creating the first company-wide online
employee directory. After being cheerfully WFR'd in 2002,
Alan was brought back by HP on contract, then worked five
years for Avago, and retired in 2013.

John was Product Marketing Manager for HP-UX, HP's UNIX
operating environment. He holds a BA in Economics from the
University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance and
Marketing from the Yale School of Management.

Director Emeritus: Mary Tate
Mary was Global Business Manager for the iPass/Cisco
alliance as well as the world-wide marketing manager for
various HP partners. Mary holds a BA in Economics from Cal
Poly, San Luis Obispo.

TechTalk Forum Moderator Emeritus: Danny Low
Danny worked at HP for 29 years in QA, R&D, and technical
marketing on the HP 2100, HP 3000, HP 300, and PC product
lines. Retired, he now pursues his hobby of photography –
but continues to dabble with PCs because of digital
photography. |

HP Connections Membership Manager Emeritus: Dana Evans
Dana is a Supply Chain Manager at financial services firm
USAA in San Antonio -- working on employee benefits
contracts, strategic sourcing, and supplier management. She
was at HP and Agilent for 11 years -- primarily in Loveland,
Colorado -- and has subsequently held procurement and supply
chain management roles at other high-tech firms. She has
been an adjunct instructor, contributes to two sports blogs.
wrote a children's book -- and intends to write a novel
before her 50th birthday.
