How to view a thread, search discussions, comment, or post new questions using a browser.  (Updated Nov 9, 2025)

No special login is required to access the HPAA forums, which run on the Google Groups system. You read, comment, and post new questions using your email. See hpalumni.org/guide

However, you can view a thread or search past discussions with a Google account -- as discussed on this page.

When you join the HPAA, we set you up to read, comment, and post new questions via email. This works with virtually any email address.

There is no need to check a site regularly and there are no logins or passwords for you or HPAA to deal with. (You can change a forum membership to receive a single daily digest. Go to: hpalumni.org/subs )

However, you may get a "content unavailable" error screen from the Google security system, which protects the privacy of our forums on Google Groups...

...if you click the "Visit this group's homepage" link in a welcome email from Google Groups...

...or, if you click the "View this discussion" link at the end of any email from one of our groups.

You still have the ability to read, comment, and post new questions via email. Just ignore the error message and post as detailed at hpalumni.org/guide

If you wish to directly access a Google Group with your browser, you must link your Google Groups membership to a Google Account. This will work with most non-Gmail addresses.

You can then view an entire thread, search discussions, read, comment, and post new questions with your browser.

First, check the list of Google Groups that you are subscribed to: https://groups.google.com

If you wish to have browser access to Google Groups, go here for instructions on how to change your Google Account settings:

- If you already have a Google Account, you can link a non-Gmail address to that account.
"Sign in to your Google Account with another email address... When you create a Google Account, you automatically get a Gmail address. But if you’d rather use another email address to sign in, you can link a non-Gmail email address to the account and use it to sign in, recover your password, get notifications, and more."

- If you do not have a Google Account -- or you want to have a second Google Account -- you can create one that is linked to a non-Gmail address.
"You don't need a Gmail account to create a Google Account. You can use your non-Gmail email address to create one instead."

Once you have changed your Google Account settings, please send us a note at subs@hpalumni.org with the details.
