Former employee. Send an email to request your personnel file:

- If you left the Hewlett-Packard Company before November 1, 2015 -- or if you left HP Inc. on or after November 1, 2015 -- you are legally a former employee of HP Inc. -- regardless of which part of HP you left.
Go to HP Inc official US External HR Support page. (Select "HR Questions" and send an email to HP Inc as described.)  Outside US, go to HP Inc official HR Support Country Selector.

- If you left the Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (HPE) on or after November 1, 2015:
Go to HPE official US External HR Support page  (Select "HR Help" and send an email to HPE as described.)  Outside US, go to HPE official HR Support Country Selector.

If you transitioned to DXC or Micro Focus, it is treated as though you left HPE to join another company.

First step: Which Company am I a retiree or former employee of? HP Inc or Hewlett Packard Enterprise? Given HP's complex history of  acquisitions, divestitures, and spinoffs, the company that you are legally a former employee of may not be obvious. Before contacting one of the HP-related companies, check here: Which Company

Current employee:

Most of the current personnel record information can be found in Workday, accessible via the HP Inc Portal.

Older records were scanned and reside in a system called OFIS -- Optical File Imaging System.

Here is the path for an HP Inc employee to find their OFIS personnel records: (HP Inc digital badge or email-and-password required.)

1. Go to the Daily Inc home page.

2. Search for OFIS.

3. Click on the first listing for OFIS.

4. Click on the "OFIS - Launch" button.  (If you are blocked with a certificate error, click the "ignore" link several times until you get through.)

When entering your employee number, be sure and include any leading zeros.

This will bring up a list of documents that were originally paper but have been scanned. For employees who have been part of the original HP, there can be quite a few documents here.
(For example, an employee of 35 years found 52 documents, including their original offer-of-employment letter.)

If trouble accessing, contact your manager with the above path information. Each manager has access to the personnel records of their direct reports.
