Join the independent HP Alumni Association at no charge If formerly a regular, direct U.S. employee of HP or HPE -- or in the process of leaving. One of our key online discussion groups is the... Benefits Forum Purpose of this online group: Covers topics such as COBRA and retiree health benefits, annual enrollment, and transition to Medicare. Moderated by HPAA volunteers. (Due to the personalized -- and usually geographic -- nature of working with a health provider, we don't get into specific health provider recommendations on the HPAA Benefit Group.) Much of what members have discussed on the group has been organized and added to the advice on this website. Index to benefits topics: https://www.hpalumni.org/benefits (Note that we don't exchange health plan prices on the Benefits Forum. There are too many variations, including: when and how people left, which retirement program they are on, geographic location, years of service, dependents, Medicare, and whether spouse is of Medicare age. For future prices there are major unpredictable variables: changes in situation, rising cost of health coverage, and the overall limit on company contribution that was set in 2010 -- which is now becoming a significant factor. Details In the past, the Benefits Centers would not quote prices before enrollment. HPAA members report that they are now willing to do so.
