It includes plan details and an address at the employer for appeals. The current SPD takes precedence over any other written, online, or verbal information you may have been given but is still subject to change. The plan administrator is required by law to provide the SPD upon request. If an employee left at 55 or older with at least 10 years of service, or left after 2010 with age-plus-years-of-service of at least 80, or left under an early retirement program HP and HPE generally classify the employee as "retired" regardless of how they left and whether or not they have any retiree benefits. (HPE also mentions "...or age 55 or older with at least 70 age-plus-service 'points' for equity grants.") This is reported to outside payroll and employment verification services, but doesn't seem to have any negative consequences. Inquiries from state Unemployment Dept. claims examiners go to a specific group in HR, which replies via letter. Over the years, members have reported that HP did not block their UI claims. Which HP-related companies have me classified as a retiree or former employee? Due to acquisitions and spinoffs, may not be obvious: Which Company Service at HP predecessor companies. Of HPInc's many predecessor companies, only HP, DEC, and EDS ever had US pension plans setting aside money over the years in dedicated trust funds. The DEC and EDS plans became sub-plans under the HP/HPInc plan; benefits stopped accruing; terms did not change. Employees of all acquired companies joined the HP/HPInc pension or 401(k) retirement plan in effect after the time of acquisition. U.S. pension change. In 2020, HP Inc irrevocably transferred pension administration and $5.2 billion in payment obligations for 41,000 U.S. HP, DEC, and EDS retirees to Prudential by purchasing a group annuity contract. Applied only to those who were currently receiving monthly payments (and did not have a Qualified Domestic Relations Order.) Amounts and terms did not change. Other pensions are still administered by Fidelity. Fidelity has the historical records. Prudential later sold the business to Empower; however payments are sent from Prudential Tax Service. If you still have benefits remaining in an HP pension plan or the HP 401(k) Plan, the value, timing, and method of your payments will not change, and you will not need to take any action.
