On Nov 1, 2015, the legal name of the Hewlett-Packard Company was changed to HP Inc. and a new, completely separate company – Hewlett Packard Enterprise (green-rectangle logo; no hyphen) – was spun out. Portions of HPE were later spun out into DXC and Micro Focus, which have spun out other companies.

HP Inc. (HP):
- HP Inc. corporate headquarters is at the long-time site in Palo Alto, CA on land leased from Stanford University. HP Inc headquarters Admin functions -- including HR, Benefits, and Payroll -- are at 10300 Energy Drive, Spring, TX 77389. 1-650-857-1501.... (Same ZIP code as the HPE corporate headquarters.) Legal headquarters still in Palo Alto -- but now 1501 Page Mill Road, not Hanover Street.

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE):
- HPE corporate headquarters moved from the former HP headquarters on Hanover Street in Palo Alto, to Santa Clara, to North San Jose, to Houston -- and finally to a new campus in Spring, TX. "...storage business, West Coast territory sales team, GreenLake, software, and other technical talent -- along with non-technical talent that chooses not to relocate -- will be based in San Jose." HP Labs was split up: HP Labs is part of HP Inc; Hewlett Packard Labs is part of Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Joint history: HP and HPE have jointly hired HeritageWerks, a public relations agency, to digitize and display the HP photo archives on a website. Official HP Archives. Bill and Dave's offices on Page Mill and the restored garage in residential Palo Alto are not open to the public.
Stock: You may now have stock in HP, HPE, Agilent, Keysight, or DXC in various accounts – and may not have received cash payouts for Micro Focus and Perspecta. Due to spinoffs and splits, current cost basis depends on when you acquired each block of shares. Members have found that plan administrators, transfer agents, and brokerages vary significantly in how (or if) they track gain/loss and cost basis for the many complex HP-related stock events -- and what (if anything) they report to the IRS. HP Inc. is the overall legal successor to companies acquired by Hewlett-Packard before the company was split into HP Inc and Hewlett Packard Enterprise on Nov 1, 2015. In general, responsibility for commitments to former U.S. employees of Compaq, DEC, EDS, etc. remain with HP Inc. – regardless of whether the employee's last business unit ended up in HP or HPE.
